Once again I have a few beginner’s questions ? this time about violin tuning, what to practice. Are there any tricks how to hear better if the violin is right? My teacher says that I don’t do it that bad, but I’m never sure if the strings are right or a bit too high or too low. He gave me a tuning fork to take home, we don’t have another instrument. I’ve already learned that I shouldn’t knock on the edge of the violin with it ? and meanwhile it’s swinging quite a bit. In the violin lesson we tune either according to his violin or sometimes both according to his piano. Do you know why you always only tune the A? I mean, on the piano there are also the other notes, so it would be easier to tune all the strings according to the right keys, wouldn’t it? Thank you for your answers and for not laughing at me ?
